W Ch Stahlkriegers Johnny Cash

It all started many years ago when our beloved Ch Harchanum Charisma for Nichi was sent to USA.

You will probably think that Harchanum Charisma for Nichi was a pepper and salt, and has nothing to do with a black, but this is going to be a long story.

We had, as payment of some "Chuck"' matings, a pepper and salt wonderful male, our W Ch Stahlkriegers Magnum force, and we promised to the breeder, Mrs Cheryl Crompton,
W Ch Stahlkriegers Johnny Cash
to send him back to be finished in his homecountry, with the possibility to temporarily import a new adult male to be campaigned here in Europe.

Years have passed, waiting to send Magnum back, and when the right time arrived, we realized that all the American dogs we loved, contained already our bloodline. After some considerations we asked Cheryl to have a black instead of a pepper and salt. She always had wonderful black specimen, she accepted, and let us choose among a great number of gorgeous stallions.

We were looking for a show dog but also for a stud dog, able to capture the attention of all European breeders.

The choice was Johnny, solid black since many generations, with a lovely temperament, perfect size, ultra black natural color and a very harsh coat, hips displasia free, very beautiful and with a great attitude for shows. No one was better than him.

And all the judges that got him in the rings had the same feeling. One week after his arrival he was already Luxembourg Champion, one month later Europasieger in Dortmund, some weeks more and he was World Champion.

We decided than to take him back in Germany to the hardest Schnauzer competition in the world: the German "Dog of the Year" Championship.

2001 was the last year that saw the participation of cropped dogs, but we planned more to be there to introduce Johnny to all the breeders visiting that show , that to be surely winning. And the incredible became reality. He was best male, than best Champion, than best Standard and finally Best in Show. His title "Jahressieger -Auslese" sounds in English "Dog of the Year - Top-notch" we do not have to say more words.

Oops!!!! We have to say more! 2003 World Champion and Bob is a Johnny daughter, Victory in Black Grand Calvera, and in open class males the winner was her brother Velvet Black Grand Calvera, and fourth was the third brother Vabant Black Grand Calvera. And at the Italian annual Clubmatch best junior male and best junior female (also reserve Best in Show!!!) were two babies of Johnny again: Ch Nichi Blueblood Blazon and Ch Nichi Bloody Mary!!!

Johnny is now back to USA and we already miss him. He left in Europe a great contribution for the development of the breed and a immense void in our hearts.
